If you’re looking for moving companies in Washington, DC, you’re probably planning a move for your home or for your business. Moving takes a lot of work and planning, and it can be very overwhelming if you have a lot of items to pack. The good news is that you can make moving a lot less stressful if you plan out exactly how you’re going to be packing everything up. Knowing how to pack different types of items will make things a lot easier. Following are some things to think about when packing fragile items.

Used Small Boxes

Pack up your most fragile and delicate items into small boxes to ensure that they are packed in tightly and won’t move around. Larger boxes increase the risk of fragile items being bounced around and, therefore, shattering.

Fill Hollow Items

If you’ve got hollow items like glass vases or crystal glasses, stuff them with rolled-up newspaper or another type of cushioned packing. This will help prevent them from breaking when they’re packed inside the box. Once the item is stuffed, wrap it with bubble wrap and any final wrapping paper.

Clearly Mark Your Boxes

Make sure that you clearly mark the boxes that contain your fragile items. Your movers will need to know what’s inside so they know how to handle them. Spell out exactly what’s inside the box instead of just labeling it “fragile”.
